Just Plain Cooking !     What more can I say?

Just Plain Cooking....

There are probably more ways to cook any single food than one can possibly imagine. Each Ethnic group has their own method of cooking any particular food depending on the specific area of the world they live in.

The climate, the quality of the soil, the types of herbs and seasonings available, the actual food itself, the types of heating devices, the taste preference of the individual, etc, etc, etc.

The list could go on forever. Let it suffice to say that the methods of cooking are varied and endless, whether ethnic, home cooking or gourmet cooking. Each has its own place in our food culture and each is valuable on its own.

And, now, with our modern rapid transportation and shipping methods, we can enjoy most of these different types of cuisine right in out own homes.

We can have French Cuisine on Sunday, Vietnamese on Monday, Italian on Tuesday, African on Wednesday, Greek on Thursday, Jewish on Friday, and American on Saturday, only to mention a few, and never leave home.

On the many pages of this website I have tried to pull together many different resources showing these varied methods, recipes, tips, shortcuts, and resources for cooking the food we eat. It is a work in progress and not by any means complete or all encompassing. Day by day and week by week I will be adding to it as I find more and more resources.

Cooking is a passion with me. I don't claim to be an expert or a gourmet cook though I have been cooking for over 60 years now and am as comfortable in the kitchen as I am in my workshop. Never professionally but always fervently.

Most recently I have been a member of one of the Cooking for Christ teams at Healing Place Church in Baton Rouge, LA. The Cooking for Christ teams have cooked for events such as 911 relief efforts in New York and at the Pentagon, for national or local disaster relief efforts, such as Hurricanes in Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana, at special outreach events in the inner city where we feed the poor and homeless and bring them the word of God and at special church events, such as church anniversary celebrations. We have served groups as small as 25 and as large as 7000 plus. Some of our teams have also cooked at mission outreaches in Mexico and Honduras.

I do not mention Cooking for Christ here to applaud the team members or Healing Place Church but to give the glory to Jesus Christ, our Saviour and Supplier. He has given us a mission to feed the poor and needy and He gives us the grace, and equips us, to rally to His call.

I wish to thank all who have furnished resources and have tried to acknowledge them at the end of each page. I hope I have not missed anyone.

I hope you enjoy this website and wish you "Good Cooking"!
